Here's the deal. Sometimes you have to make hard choices, and this is a hard one - airplanes or cows?
My friends and family have long known me as Dave the pilot. I've had several airplanes, a flight school, and lots of good adventure. Now, as I enter my retirement years back on the farm, I have decided to reel it in a bit. I'm simplifying life by settling into the first jobs God gave man, "tend to the garden and name the animals." Yes, someone even proclaimed that I am now "Farmer Dave." I prefer "rancher" as I am more about livestock than cash crops, but either way I accept it as a compliment.
I am now determined to dive headlong into the cattle breeding business , propagating a "bred-for-the-south" cross breed called "South Poll Cattle." Combine the best of four breeds (Herford & Barzona crossed with Red Angus & Senepol) = "the Southern Moma Cow" South Poll) and you'll produce a very hardy, gentle, and heat-tolerant meat cow. So, to make this program work I have lots of acres to regenerate and I need good funding to support it - hence, airplanes for cows, and anything else not bolted down that I can sell.
